M.Sc. Physics Student · Theoretical Condensed Matter & Topological Quantum Computing
I'm Uğur Tepe, a master's student in physics at Heinrich-Heine University
, Düsseldorf, Germany.
My master's thesis focuses on topological quantum computing, specifically on so-called Majorana box qubits (MBQ). Previously, I studied ways to reduce the sample complexity in quantum algorithms.
Current Research
Majorana Box Qubits
My master's research in Reinhold Egger's group
at HHU Düsseldorf focuses on Majorana box qubits
(MBQs), a platform for topological quantum computing proposed by Plugge et al. (2017).
MBQs encode qubits nonlocally by utilizing the properties of Majorana bound states, protecting the quantum information from local perturbations. Studying these qubits brings together my interests in theoretical condensed matter physics and quantum information.
